IndiGo has announced plans for a first-of-its-kind loyalty collaboration with hospitality giant, Accor.

The India-based low-cost carrier (LCC), is already the fourth largest airline globally in operational fleet size and now, it is reshaping its engagement framework through a new partnership with Accor. Accor is a global leader in hospitality with a lifestyle loyalty programme (ALL Accor Live Limitless) of over 100 million members.

IndiGo’s own loyalty programme, BlueChip, was launched in November 2024 and rapidly enrolled over two million members. The collaboration between the pair will allow members to earn and burn points from stays and experiences, as well as flights, “shaping a loyalty ecosystem that rewards every leg of the journey.” Other initiatives including rewards points sharing, co-branded loyalty, and “seamless two-way conversion” were listed in the announcement as areas to explore.

Speaking on the opportunities this partnership opens up for IndiGo, the airline’s CEO Pieter Elbers said,

“We are excited to be working on a strategic partnership with Accor to elevate the travel experience and maximize the rewards of our valued loyalty members. Last year at IndiGo’s 18th anniversary, the launch of BluChip loyalty program was announced […] Now IndiGo moves to the next phase to strengthen its loyalty program by exploring and developing strategic partnerships. In line with IndiGo’s ambition to become a global aviation player, partnering with Accor, a likeminded global hospitality brand, will open new and unapparelled opportunities for IndiGo’s BluChip members. As India’s economy soars and the aspirations of its people evolve, we are also reimagining air travel to offer our customers enhanced benefits.”

Accor’s Chairman and CEO added:

“This exciting partnership with IndiGo represents a powerful synergy between travel and hospitality, bringing together two industry leaders to enhance the journey of millions of loyalty members. Together ALL and BluChip will expand the horizons of customer engagement, offering greater flexibility and value across flights, stays and experiences. We are thrilled to take this bold step with IndiGo and look forward to shaping the future of travel together.”

IndiGo also made headlines this week for briefly becoming the world’s most valuable airline, overtaking Delta Air Lines.
