At Aviation Festival Americas, Dr Vugranam Sreedhar, Distinguished Engineer and Vice President, Kyndryl joined to discuss the industry’s NDC journey and the role of digital tech, cloud-based platforms, and artificial intelligence (AI) in accelerating its adoption.
To support his insights, Sreedhar used the analogy of a chess board. Here, Sreedhar likened data to the king piece and generative AI as the queen. In his analogy, data is essential but it is AI that can transform it into actionable insights, enhancing customer experiences.
Unpacking the NDC journey, Sreedhar highlighted several key points. Firstly, the historical challenges NDC has faced explaining why adoption has been relatively slow. Secondly, the catalyst effect of the pandemic, describing it as a turning point for NDC. Thirdly, the opportunity for empowerment that it presents airlines, giving them control over both their data and destiny.
