World-renowned carrier Emirates has just launched two new routes via Bangkok – Da Nang, Vietnam and Siem Reap, Cambodia. This has been described as a significant milestone in the airline’s broader strategy to enhance connectivity across the region amid a period of rapid growth and innovation in travel and trade.

Both routes will cater to leisure travellers from European markets while also opening up cultural and business exchanges between the UAE, Cambodia, and Vietnam as part of the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements (CEPA).

“Launching two new routes via Bangkok marks a significant milestone in strengthening Emirates’ presence in Southeast Asia and reinforces our long-standing commitment to Thailand as a strategic gateway to the region.

With these new services, travellers can now experience seamless connectivity across three distinct destinations – Dubai, Bangkok, and either Da Nang or Siem Reap—with a single ticket. We thank our partners, including the local authorities and airports for their cooperation and valuable contributions to Emirates’ expansion efforts in this region.”

Alongside a push to grow in Southeast Asia, Emirates is fortifying operations in East Asia, signing a Memorandum of Understanding with Air China. The move represents a commitment to further cooperation following Emirates’ launch at two new Chinese cities: Shenzhen and Hangzhou.

The signing is equally significant to Air China’s strategy, with Yan Fei, Air China’s Senior Vice President, Chief Commercial Officer explaining:

“The signing of this memorandum is an important milestone for the deepening of the cooperation between the two sides. Air China continues to implement ‘Belt and Road Initiative’. By collaborating with Emirates, we will further expand our route network in China-UAE and global market and jointly promote global connectivity.”
