JetBlue and United have announced a further expansion of their ‘Blue Sky’ partnership: customers can now book flights offered by JetBlue and United across both airlines’ booking channels.
Whether browsing online or in-app, the move means travellers can select preferred flights from either carrier and book using cash, points, or miles. In the future, passengers will also be able to book a single itinerary with flights operated by JetBlue and United.
Andrew Nocella, EVP and Chief Commercial Officer at United, said:
With cash bookings now available, Blue Sky is making it even easier for customers to plan and purchase travel across two leading networks. This milestone is another proof point of the value Blue Sky is bringing customers – in giving them the ability to book with cash, miles or points on either network, customers now have more choice, flexibility and a better overall booking experience when traveling to their favourite destinations.
Marty St. George, President of JetBlue, said:
This is an important step forward in our Blue Sky collaboration, expanding the choice and flexibility we offer customers when they travel. This move gives our members even more ability to earn and redeem points to exciting destinations around the world, while United customers gain access to JetBlue’s network across the Americas and Europe.
In 2025, reciprocal earning was introduced on the TrueBlue and MileagePlus loyalty programmes. United flights are also now available on JetBlue Vacations as part of their Flight + Hotel packages. Further enhancements to the Blue Sky initiative are expected to launch later this spring, including reciprocal perks and JetBlue sharing slots at New York JFK’s Terminal 6 with United.
