At World Aviation Festival, Carrie Mills, Vice President & Chief Information Security Officer, Southwest Airlines joined to discuss the changing cybersecurity landscape.
For this five-minute conversation, Mills drew on 15+ years experience in cybersecurity to map out the evolution of cyberthreats, explain how artificial intelligence (AI) can be successfully deployed to combat them, and share her top three pieces of advice for airlines looking to future-proof against cybersecurity threats without compromising their digital transformation?
Explaining how AI and automation can be leveraged against rapidly growing cyberthreats airline face, Mills said:
“The threat actors that we are battling against are heavily funded so they have a lot of money to target companies. One way you can use AI is for responding to these threats quicker. For example, when you have an incident you can leverage Ai and gen AI to put information into your security operations analysts’ hands more quickly. […] AI can bring that all together and then when the analyst looks at it [they can] respond to that incident as quickly as possible.”
