Building long-term sustainable growth at Cambodia Airports

Since 1995, VINCI Airports’ subsidiary, Cambodia Airports, has managed Cambodia’s three international airports (Phnom Penh, Siem Reap-Angkor, and Sihanoukville). Over the years, Cambodia Airports has strengthened the country’s airport infrastructure to support growing international traffic, doubling the overall capacity at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports.

At Aviation Festival Asia, Cyril Girot, CEO of Cambodia Airports reflected on the last 12 months, sharing updates, milestones, and insights into the ongoing digitalisation journey. In line with VINCI Airports’ wider priorities, Girot highlighted sustainability and diversity as key pillars of the airports’ strategy, explaining how they translate into tangible results.

Reinforcing the organisation’s commitment to long-term sustainable growth, Girot outlined the three priorities that shape its environmental plan: acting for climate, preserving biodiversity, and optimising resources through a circular economy.

Balancing this with a specific focus on diversity, Girot explained:

“At VINCI Airports, we believe that steering diversity in the aviation sector is opening wider the talent pipeline and a way to achieve it is through gender diversity. So how do we do it? First of all, we increase women’s leadership and representation. We encourage women to take on leadership roles within our organisation with visible and concrete results. For example, at the top group level – VINCI Concessions – we have an Executive Committee composed equally of five women and five men. This balance is also reflected in our subsidiaries, including Cambodia Airports, where our Executive Committee consists equally of four men and four women.”
