Delta Air Lines is a major airline in the United States (US) and a global leader in safety, innovation, reliability, and customer experience. Well established as one of the “big four” US airlines, Delta is looking to expand its footprint in Asia. During this brief interview, Jeff Moomaw, VP – Asia Pacific, Delta shared insights into the airline’s expansion strategy, looking at existing partnerships in the region and the “secret sauce” to their success.

Opening the interview, Moomaw stated:

“Partnerships, for Delta, are really important. Our mission statement is no one better connects the world. And we’re humble enough to know that, despite being the world’s largest airline, we simply can’t do that on our own.”

Unpacking the airline’s existing joint venture with Korean Air, Moomaw outlined the foundations underpinning the partnership’s success. These touched on the airlines’ alignment in terms of networks, customer experience, efficient connecting facilities, and more. Highlighting plans for growth in the future, Moomaw added:

“Partnerships is our way forward. I think that what you’ll see is that we’re very bullish on Asia. We’re very proud of the existing partnerships that we have because those alone allow us to grow. We’ve just announced 30 per cent more capacity coming into the Asia Pacific market this year with new service to Brisbane, Seattle to Taipei, as well as another Atlanta to Incheon frequency. It is because of those partnerships we have that allows us to do that sort of growth and we are for sure bullish on establishing even more in the future.”
