At Aviation Festival Americas, Stephen Snyder, Managing Director at JetBlue Ventures explained how start ups challenge established tech providers, bringing agility and choice to an otherwise slower-moving market.
Speaking on the subject, Snyder highlighted a few of the key challenges that start ups are better positioned to target than their large scale counterparts. He explained that a lot of the industry’s tech is dependent on just a few tech providers which drives up costs and results in limited options. However, start ups are forcing innovation, offering features at lower costs, unrestricted by legacy technology.
Snyder also shared his perspective on navigating the hype cycle around emerging technologies like generative AI, explaining:
“I am so bought in for the long term on gen AI. I think there are many use cases that are ready for application right now, they just might not be the ways that people think about it…”
