Kuwait’s Jazeera Airways will launch a ‘fly now, pay later’ payment option.
Customers can split the cost of their flight over two to four payments thanks to a partnership with local FinTech platform Deema. The first buy now, pay later (BNPL) platform to be licensed in Kuwait, the software allows customers to complete instant eligibility checks at checkout without completing separate financing steps.
Barathan Pasupathi, CEO of Jazeera Airways, said:
At Jazeera Airways, we are committed to lowering the barriers to travel through agile digital innovation. By achieving our fastest-ever payment integration with Deema, we are not just adding a payment method; we are providing a seamless, Kuwaiti homegrown financial solution. This partnership empowers our passengers to ‘fly now and pay later’ with absolute ease, reinforcing our mission to make travel accessible to everyone.
Jazeera Airways joins other carriers in the Middle East to adopt flexible payments. Through Uplift, customers in the US and Canada can pay for Emirates flights in instalments. Bahraini Gulf Air have BNPL partnerships with Klarna and Affirm, while Riyadh Air recently launched a strategic initiative with Mastercard to support innovation in payments.
As the low-cost carrier (LCC) hopes to support the Bahraini government’s tourism growth policy, Jazeera Airways is undergoing extensive digitisation. The airline reported its strongest-ever financial performance in 2025, carrying over five million passengers and achieving 2.2% growth on 2024 numbers.
Bader Al-Ghanim, head of innovation and partnerships at Deema, added:
We are very excited to partner with Jazeera Airways as the first airline in Kuwait to introduce the Deema solution. This was one of the quickest integrations achieved – thanks to the fast moving and talented team at Jazeera Airways. This project truly demonstrates the airline’s ability to rapidly deploy customer-centric solutions to meet the evolving needs of its tech-savvy travellers.
