Aeroroutes have found what is believed to be Riyadh Air’s debut flight network. Covering 15 destinations, the list has been drawn from a report published by Airport Coordination Limited (ACL), a slot finder operating at several major airports worldwide.
According to this report, Riyadh Air will fly to major hubs across the Middle East and Asia: Cairo (CAI), Amman (AMM), Dubai (DXB), Islamabad (ISB), Lahore (LHE), Mumbai (BOM), Bangkok (BKK), Kuala Lumpur (KUL), Jakarta (CGK), Manila (MNL). and Jeddah (JED),
From its base in the Saudi Arabian capital, the airline will also cover key European destinations: Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG), Madrid-Barajas (MAD), London Heathrow (LHR), and Manchester (MAN).
With the exception of Manchester, all these routes are already being covered from Riyadh by national carrier Saudia. The only destinations formally announced by Riyadh Air so far are Cairo and London Heathrow: the airline have been running regular scheduled flights to Heathrow since October last year as part of its Pathway to Perfect testing programme.
Commercial service is set to begin sometime this year, though Riyadh Air are yet to launch online booking. Branding itself as the world’s first digital and AI-native airline, the carrier is targeting ambitious growth as part of Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 tourism and economic growth strategy. By that year, the airline hopes to cover more than 100 destinations. Partnerships with leading tech firms including Huawei, IBM, and Mastercard have been announced already, as Riyadh Air strives to stand out as a luxurious, modern carrier in an increasingly competitive Middle Eastern market.
