Keynote Interview with Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports Company, at Aviation Festival Asia 2025: “How does Dubai Airport’s growth thrive on a harmonisation between strong regional ties, a unique sense of place, and a tech-driven future?”

Dubai is growing, attracting visitors and residents at a rapid rate. Dubai Airports (DXB and DWC) are supporting this change, acting as gateways to the United Arab Emirates to welcome in returning passengers and craft a lasting first impression for new travellers.

At Aviation Festival Asia, Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports Company discussed the city’s growth as the result of regional collaboration. Onstage, Griffiths also analysed the shift from a transfer-focused model to an origin-and-destination one, unpacked the impact of AI and cutting-edge tech on passenger experience, explored safety advancements and the technology driving this, and the symbiotic relationship between the airports and Emirates.

Putting a message out to tech suppliers, Griffiths said to the audience:

“I would like to put a POC out to say to any technical developer: If you can come up with something where, as you walk up to the airport, your facial recognition biometric scan can be done one time and then everything from check-in, security, immigration, baggage processing, is done in one transaction […] that would be an opportunity…”
