At World Aviation Festival, Deborah Flint, President and CEO, Toronto Pearson International Airport shared insights into the airport’s Transformative Capital Plan. Flint highlighted a renewed focus on passenger-facing and operational initiatives, as well as steadfast commitment to employee development.

During the brief conversation, Flint expanded on the multi-billion dollar “Pearson LIFT” programme (long-term investment in facilities and terminals) which centres around growth and meeting customer expectations, in a sustainable way. In addition to building and modernising terminals, Flint emphasised the airport’s commitment to robust and forward thinking digitalisation. She explained:

“We’re really excited about making these investments with partners, especially our partners from the innovation community. Toronto has the Godfathers of AI and there is an incredible amount of tech investment in Canada, so as its gateway airport we’re very intentional about having strong digitalisation and building what we call the airport of the future.”

Flint also shared the secret to the airport’s return to Forbes’ list of Canada’s Best Employers and revealed how investment in people has led to tangible change at the airport.
