Virgin Atlantic have advanced their partnership with air taxi developers Joby Aviation.
Building on an initial contract from 2025, the British airline and the Californian mobility company have signed a binding commercial agreement to make Virgin Joby’s exclusive partner in the UK.
The partnership will allow Virgin’s customers to book air taxi transfers seamlessly on the airline’s website and app. Joby currently plan to launch their network across London and Manchester, but their eVTOL is yet to receive regulatory approval.

Joby already boast multiple partners across aviation: Delta Air Lines owns a 49% stake in the company, who work closely with the government of Dubai. Commercial service in the emirate is expected to launch this year following extensive trials, while Joby’s flagship eVTOL aircraft is advancing towards certification from the US’s Federal Aviation Authority (FAA).
Joby will be responsible for ensuring their product meets the UK’s Civil Aviation Authority’s standards. Meanwhile, Virgin Atlantic will support eVTOL integration within their aviation networks.
