Ahead of Aviation Festival Asia (18-19th February), Matt Briggs, Head of Partnerships for Aerospace Xelerated & Metta shared the latest in innovation, trends, and APAC specific opportunities.
Briggs will be speaking on a panel looking at ‘optimizing ground operations with AI’ and is one of the judges for the start up pitch competition at the event.
Aerospace Xelerated is a global start up accelerator programme currently working with start ups from 14 different countries. The company helps to build scalable and sustainable solutions, providing start ups with a robust network of support to develop their game-changing solutions.
Working at the forefront of cutting-edge innovation, Briggs is well positioned to see which key trends are changing the aviation landscape. In this conversation, he highlighted sustainability as the industry’s biggest disruptor and explored a few innovative tech-based solutions that are breaking new ground.
Looking specifically at APAC, Briggs shared a couple of reasons why the region is brimming with opportunities and innovation. One example he gave was the development of new mobility solutions:
“When you’ve got really highly populated cities that are growing at a fast rate and changing demographics, there’s a real burst in demand for aviation. We’re seeing people come up with new solutions to meet that demand. As soon as next year in Dubai, we’ll have flying taxis. That’s something that always seemed far off in the future, but it’s happening now. And in Asia, with high population density, it’s going to be really important to come up with innovative ways to move people around.”
