Bamboo Airways Selects Amadeus’ Altéa Passenger Service System (PSS) in Preparation for Global Expansion
Today, it has been announced that Bamboo Airways will join the 200 airlines already using Amadeus PSS tech worldwide. The airline has selected Amadeus as their next-generation technology partner. The airline will implement the market-leading Amadeus Altéa solution, revenue management solutions, and digital experience solutions.
Announcing the partnership, Mr Nguyen Manh Quan, CEO of Bamboo Airways said:
“Cooperating with a critical partner like Amadeus is the first step in digital transformation of Bamboo Airways to improve the technology systems and leverage customer experiences. Our adoption of the Altéa PSS and other digital solutions marks a crucial breakthrough in our business strategy, thus creating a launch pad to thrive in international markets, join the world’s major airline alliance down the line, and affirm our global status.”
Bamboo Airways
Bamboo Airways is a Vietnam-based leisure airline. Currently, the airline has 30 aircraft and operates approximately 170 flights per day. Back in July, Bamboo Airways announced the goal to reach 100 jets by 2028. As part of these expansion plans, the airline is also advancing their digital transformation.
Altéa PSS
This solution will enable Bamboo Airways to delivery modern, efficient reservation services for front-line employees to aid customers in purchasing, changing, and using services from the airline. The solution aims to simplify the experience for the airline and the customer.
Network Revenue Management solution
The Network Revenue Management solution will also be implemented by the airline. This is powered by AI capabilities ultimately boosting revenue across the airline’s network building routes through connecting hubs, codeshares, and partnerships. It will also enable live data and customer choice modelling. This will benefit Bamboo Airways with efficient forecasting of passenger demand and willingness to pay.
Amadeus Reference Experience
Bamboo Airways will also implement Amadeus’ modern front-end solution for booking, self-service check-in, and self-re-accommodation workflows. This will enable the airline to create a seamless customer experience on the Bamboo Airways website and other digital channels. The solution features a customizable UI built on top of Digital Experience suite orchestration engines, allowing the airline to shape its online experience with built-in configuration capabilities.
Mr Javier Laforgue, Executive Vice President, Travel Unit & Managing Director, Asia Pacific at Amadeus said:
“Bamboo Airways is joining a community of the world’s leading airlines and we are honoured to welcome the carrier to the Amadeus family. Since it was founded in 2017, we have built a close working relationship with Bamboo Airways, and we are thrilled to begin a new chapter with he carrier. We believe our advanced technology will enable Bamboo Airways to become one of the leading airlines in Asia by delivering a best-in-class travel experience for its passengers.”
Bamboo Airways’ two main competitors are Vietnamese flag carrier Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet which both operate larger fleets. Bamboo Airways’ focus on their digital transformation marks an important shift in business strategy and an exciting opportunity to advance the airline.
