Working to enhance the intermodal travel experience for customers, Cathay Pacific has opened its first-ever lounge outside of an airport. The ferry lounge at Shenzhen’s Shekou Cruise Home Port opened on the 19th January and “elevates sea-to-air connectivity” between Hong Kong International Airport and the whole of the Greater Bay Area.

Prioritising their passengers’ convenience, customers can enjoy ferry services that go directly from the Shekou Cruise Home Port to the SkyPier Terminal at Hong Kong International Airport. Making the onwards journey easier, customers can collect their ferry tickets, boarding passes, and through-check their luggage onto their various Cathay Pacific flights.

Cathay Group Chief Executive Officer Ronald Lam said:

“As Hong Kong International Airport continues to strengthen its sea and land connections with neighbouring cities in the Greater Bay Area, we are excited to open our brand-new Cathay Pacific lounge at the Shekou Cruise Home Port to our customers travelling from the region. We are committed to continuing to invest, and delivering a more comfortable and convenient travel experience for our customers.”

The lounge follows the same signature design that is recognisable in the airline’s lounges around the globe and is open to all Cathay Diamond and Gold members, as well as First and Business class customers, Cathay Silver members, and relevant oneworld members travelling on Cathay Pacific flights.

The creation of the airline’s first-ever lounge outside of an airport demonstrates a commitment to integrating the wider passenger journey, crafting a seamless experience for the customers that bridges air and sea.
