Malaysia Airlines have are expanding their MHrail programme, announcing a new partnership with French rail operators SNCF.

From the airline’s gateway at Paris Charles de Gaulle airport, travellers can now access 28 destinations across the SNCF Voyageurs network on a combined air-to-rail ticket. This facilitates simple end-to-end journeys, while also encouraging passengers to make sustainable public transport choices.

Bryan Foong, Chief Executive Officer of Airline Business from Malaysia Aviation Group, said:

This partnership with SNCF Voyageurs represents a key step in advancing our broader strategy to deliver truly seamless, end-to-end connectivity for our customers across Europe. By integrating air and rail under a unified travel experience, we are extending our network reach beyond CDG to 28 destinations across France, enhancing connectivity, while offering customers greater convenience through seamless connections and a single itinerary.

Under MHrail, Malaysia Airlines already has agreements with South Korea’s KoRail and Avanti West Coast, GWR, and LNER in the UK.

Other airlines have launched partnerships with the rail industry to foster greater global connectivity. Brussels Airlines offers a codeshare with the Deutsch Bahn in Germany, while Eurostar has become the first non-airline partner of the SkyTeam alliance.

Not only do these partnerships offer greater convenience to passengers, they also help airlines consolidate their activity around long-haul international routes between profitable hub airports.
