Malaysia Airlines and international payments giant Visa have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance the customer experience across the airline’s global network.
Under the three-year initiative, Visa will deploy their expertise in digital payments to improve Malaysia Airlines’ passenger-centric programme. Joint marketing initiatives and co-branded offers for Visa cardholders are on the table as the two brands work together on digital innovation.
Bryan Foong, Chief Executive Officer of Airline Business at Malaysia Aviation Group, said:
Our partnership with Visa reflects our commitment to delivering more integrated travel experiences, combining connectivity, convenience and value across every touchpoint of the journey. Together, we are unlocking new opportunities to engage travellers more meaningfully while driving demand across our network.
At the end of 2025, Malaysia Airlines unveiled new plans to become a Skytrax Top 10 global airline within five years. In support of this target, the national carrier have formalised their partnership with Singapore Airlines and launched an AI customer support agent, Mavis. The agreement with Visa will further strengthen the airline’s innovation portfolio as air passenger numbers in Malaysia look set to break records in 2026.
Previn Pillay, Country Manager, Visa Malaysia added:
We continue to see strong momentum in overseas travel and spending. Through our partnership with Malaysia Airlines, we are unlocking meaningful value for Visa cardholders beyond payments — from rewarding offers and exclusive privileges to smoother booking and travel journeys.
