Ultra-low-cost carrier Volaris is the latest airline to experiment with Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). The Mexican carrier is launching 30 tokens, giving the owners exclusive travel privileges.
Daniel Gelemovich, Director of Marketing and Digital at Volaris explained:

By embracing cutting-edge technologies like blockchain, we are committed to delivering unique travel experiences that continue to raise the bar for innovation and customer service. We are excited to take our passengers to new heights in this exciting digital age.”
Having recently won the “Digital Leadership Award” at the Airline Strategy Awards 2023, the airline’s latest venture with NFTs underscores its commitment to innovation.
The NFTs will feature ten unique designs referencing some of the airlines most iconic destinations including Cancún, Bogotá, Tijuana, CDMX, Los Angeles, Chicago and Peru. Owner of one of these unique NFTs will grant access to the the airline’s “Annual Pass” which allows the holder to enjoy direct flights to over 70 national and international destinations for one year.
Volaris is not the only airline to engage with NFTs, joining the likes of Etihad, Flybondi, Vueling and more.
