At Aviation Festival Asia, Cyril Girot, CEO, Cambodia Airports joined for a brief interview. The conversation looked at the significance of Cambodia Airports within VINCI Airports’ wider network and unpacked its pioneering role in the Positive Mobility vision.
Providing context behind the efforts, Girot highlighted the results of a survey ascertaining the socio-economic footprint of Cambodia Airports before the pandemic.
“We assessed that regarding the direct, indirect, and induced impact of our airport activity in Cambodia, we reached roughly $3 billion injected into the Cambodian economies per year, and we had roughly 1.7 million jobs generated by the activity of our international airports in Cambodia, which is pretty big […] If we want now to go deeper in how we build this Positive Mobility, it can be developed into three main points.”
Underscoring the holistic approach to Positive Mobility, Girot shared details surrounding the social, environmental, and heritage protection initiatives that Cambodia Airports has been involved with, spanning from healthcare coverage to LED lighting, wastewater treatment to archaeological research.
